The most common question on fitness :
Cardio or Weights
” If i am doing strength and cardio on the same day, which comes first?”
There is not a clear, crisp answer on this, but majority of experts will guide you to do strength first because if you do cardio first most of your energy is used and fatigues the muscles before even the most rigorous exercise activity. Also doing strength first will deplete stored carbohydrates in the form of sugar or glycogen and thus enhancing fat burning during the cardio workout due to the lack of available sugar for fuel.
However, there is no concrete research that proves this, and the right way to do is according to your fitness goal. So to get the most out of your workout, perform the exercise that is most important to your goals first, when you are not fatigued.
For instance, if your primary goal is to increase muscle strength, then do strength training first. If your primary goal is to increase aerobic, strength or loose body fat, then you should perform the cardio first. If your fitness goals include overall improvements, finish your workout with the type of exercise you enjoy most.
The most important thing that will work for you when you are hitting the gym is your “Consistency“. If you are consistent and disciplined enough, you will be shocked with your body results.
