Whey protein is one form of milk protein which is considered as a complete protein as it contains all essential 9 amino acids which are essential for growth of Lean Muscle Mass. It also contains fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals.

It is costlier than Soy protein and it is available in three different types :
a. Whey Protein Concentrate ( WPC ) : The amount of protein available in whey protein concentrate ranges from 30 to 89% and are the most widely used protein types.
b. Whey Protein Isolate ( WPI ) : The amount of protein content is higher and usually ranges between 90 to 95%, which is more expensive than concentrate with almost less or no lactose.
c. Whey Protein Hydrolystate ( WPH ) : When the protein produced is further processed it is called Hydrolised Whey protein. This is the most expensive protein and gives faster results as it eliminates the bodies need to hydrolyse the protein. Protein content ranges between 80 to 90%.
